Just a short post about my weekend, with nothing really interesting actually. I went for a little time trip and played CS on the weekend for a few hours. It’s strange, I thought I would suck and would get pwned by schoolies. I was wrong, I am fully 1337. I was pwning n00bs left and right, I was an unstoppable force, maybe I’ll get back into it for a while. The other game I wanted to start up again is warcraft3, classic stuff but I’m certain I suck at that one now. aaaa good times.

Worst sport in the world!

This is probably going to get me into a load of trouble with some people, but thats partly the point. Soccer, Football whatever you want to call it is officially the worst fucking sport in the world!. Any sport which causes fanatics to sing really really crappy jingles really really loud for 12 hrs straight! is shit. Ok I understand that it’s part of living in a noisy area, I have no problem with the noise generally, I like the fact that Wroclaw is a lively city and people are out having fun. However when there is a bunch of 20 or so football fanatics singing as loud as possible just outside your window, it really makes a strong argument that soccer is the worlds worst sport. They aren’t there for fun, they are there to annoy the fuck out of every one else, if this is fun to them and supporting soccer is the cause of this then it goes to follow that a sport that causes such anti-social behavior in people is just wrong. Not only that but when there is a match on half of the police force is needed just to keep them in line, thats just not right. not right at all!.

The very fact that half of my friends will disown me and never talk to me again for writing this is proof that this sport is the worst in the world.

If you still don’t understand why I’m annoyed and the film hasn’t played yet. Loop it for 12 hrs straight. (yes the started at around 7pm and ended when I left for work at 7am!!)

You must be asking yourself, what is he on about this time. Well it’s quite simple, I have almost no willpower and because of this I bought myself a PS3 last night with GTA4 and it’s so goooood. I didn’t play it last night for long because my internet connection is finally set up and I spent some time downloading updates and patches from the last 4 months. My first impressions of the PS3 are quite good, it’s bigger than I expected it to be but it seems to be filled with nice little features, nice simple OS interface, wireless controller, wifi, full hd. Tonight, amongst other things the plan is to hook up the fritz box I have to the net and have it connect to all my other appliances; Dream box, PS3 and PC…

I’m very tempted to buy this. If I was to buy this then I would have to buy some new hardware, my options are a new PC, for which I would have to wait a while until GTA4 comes out on PC. a Playstation or an XBox, I can’t really decide which is better… If there is any difference it is rather small. It appears though that the XBox has slightly sharper graphics than the Playstation as can be seen http://www.gamerevolution.com/video/xbox360/grand_theft_auto_iv here in the comparison vid’s. Although the difference is small as the graphics and physics engine is very nice indeed.

I am one step closer to a fully functional apartment. In fact probably the only thing I am missing right now is an internet connection. Oh… and a kitchen, but that can wait for now as I have the appliances needed for most occasions. I have a fridge now, a nice little Beko fridge in which I can keep all sorts of goodies like milk… cheese… ice cubes… juice… the list is endless

When I am able to go online at home I’ll upload some pics. New appt, New floor, New washing machine, New fridge, New satellite dish, Relatively new furniture, Old computer… good stuff…

Disconnected

It’s been over a month since I signed the contract now and I still have no internet connection at home. I do not recommend Orange Freedom for anyone who wants an internet connection. Their customer service is worse than terrible to the extent that they ask me to do their job for them because they don’t know what the status is. They clearly want clients so badly that the customer service professional asked me to contact the sales office where I signed the contract. When I informed him I will not play as an intermediate for him and communicate between companies, he told me that it’s not his job to call people and ask about my connection. So it seems that the customer service in Orange is based on the self-service principle, they clearly can’t be bothered.

So after a month of non-connectivity I canceled the contract and am now trying for a Neostrada connection with TPSA, we’ll see if this is any faster. Perhaps TPSA has too many difficulties working with other companies.

Needless to say it’s a very frustrating situation. In particular because I have to pay for my phone line connection during this time. grr…

Thanks to this little problem I have not had time to work on my wonderful project eat.wroclaw.pl. I hope I get it soon as I would really like to keep working on it. The rating system should be live soon! so look out for that.

wow, I just checked the last time I made a blog entry, it’s been a while. That seems to be the trend in blogs though. People get really into writing stuff, then motivation seems to die and return after a while. so maybe my motivation has returned? we’ll see how long it lasts

Anyway, enough of that, recent happenings, I’m back in Wroclaw. Employed as Release Manager for Ciao GmbH Wroclaw Branch. I had a nice Christmas and new years, spent with my gal in the mountains in her hometown Szklarska Poreba, which is in the south west of Poland, not far from Wroclaw. It’s a typical tourist town and gets very full of people around Christmas and New years.

Anyway, it’s 9am, I better get to work before the key loggers activate and they catch me blogging

I’m moving back to Wroclaw! Thats right, I’ll be working from the Ciao Wroclaw starting Jan ‘08. The actual move will probably take place around the 15th or 16th, there is so much to do before then and there isn’t much time left. I’m quite excited about moving back, I’ll be able to buy a nice big flat screen lcd! I’m not looking forward to the move itself as I don’t even really have a concept of where to put my things when I go back. I’m sure I’ll work something out though. I say that it’s almost official as until the car is booked I don’t consider it fully official

it’s been a long time… so what can I say thats new and exciting, damn I can’t think of anything. A bird shat on my door at work over the weekend. I wish I knew what a bird was doing in the office over the weekend. Oh, I mean a real bird, I’m not referring to a girl, that would be even stranger I guess… I mean, who takes their bird to work over the weekend and lets them shit on doors?
