So it’s now after the wedding of my good friend Jakub. I’m waiting for my flight back to Munich. I’m very glad I came, caught up with some old friends, made some new friends, got drunk, made a fool of myself as usual
For anyone who dosn’t know what a Polish wedding is like, it’s quite different to the traditional stiff British or Australian weddings (I’m not going to comment on the American weddings but I have heard that they are similar to British and Australian). The church part is more or less the same ceremony, a mass where people get married. Outside the church after the ceremony people line up to give their present (and usually flowers) to the happy couple and to give them their best wishes. After this, it’s time for the party!! The party can and usually does go for at least 2 days. there are no speeches usually, it’s not a rule of course, people can give speeches if they like, but definitely the focus is to get drunk, dance and have a good time by making a fool of yourself in front of your family. The next day people turn up to fix whatever sobriety may be remaining and start drinking early in the afternoon. And so on until everyone has had enough. The drink of choice is Vodka!! no beer or other spirits it’s all Vodka Vodka Vodka!
I also heard a couple of more riddles. First an easy one, A snail is climbing a pole which is 15m high, it travels 5m in the day up the pole and during the night it slides down 4m, how many days will it take for the snail to reach the top of the pole.
Now for the second one. Indiana Jones has stolen three relics ( the bastard ). He is running away from the tribes people and he comes to a small bridge suspended over a large chasm. The bridge is only able to support him and two of the relics and any time. he only has time to make the trip once, and he cannot throw any of the relics over ( lets say they are fragile and will break ). How does he cross the river with the three relics?
